Science fiction story books are always interesting and hook you from the first to last page and it’s a complete entertaining package if you choose the right sci-fi book. Edward Ashton delivers the excellent sci-fi adventure novel that is Mickey7. Due to its excellent story, it was made into a movie and released on the big screen in 2017 as Mickey 17. The lead role play by Robert Pattinson. Now it’s the right time to read the 2022 novels. It’s not over here now it’s available on Kindle Unlimited, but it’s also awesome to read with just one click.
(Vectorized viruses, killer caterpillars, and sauteed crickets notwithstanding.) You are curious what will happen in Mickey7? How was the story different from director Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey17 and how does Mickey7 end? Let’s review.
Who Is Mickey7? Life on His Current Planet
On his current planet Mickey Banes has not much things to do. Mickey has terrifying moments like dead-end work, no long-term relationship, and a gambling debt putting him in a revengeful crime lord’s crosshairs. He really needs a quick plan for an exit. Mickey’s best friend is excellent combat pilot Berto Gomez and Berto Gomez is chosen for a respected and intensely selective human journey to colonize Niflheim.
You need to imagine Mickey being the only man who able to take on very dangerous tasks on a space expedition. That’s exactly what Mickey does when he applies for the spot of expendable. A role that makes him a disposable employee sent on near-societal missions. Mickey perform difficult tasks that no one else in the colony would try to attempt.
How do you deal with an expendable that won’t go away? As someone who loves to research history-obsessed characters with a cynical edge, I find Mickey’s 7 flexibility charming. The way he explains the cruel reality of being experimented on by doctors, to survive on the ship and new world makes the story interesting. Luckily or not, he is the only one who actually thinks about what it means to exist when your luck is to be changed.
Shocking Discovery in the Colony
Edward Ashton write a classic story where Mickey, the lead character, survives against all odds thanks to unexpected help. Mickey sneaks back into the colony and realizes that Berto has already reported him dead which is shocking for him. Things get worse when Mickey8 is eliminated and is sleeping in Mickey’s bunk. Condition is seriously bad for him because rules are strict, and the rule is there are only be NE!!! Expendable. It is highly illegal to possess multiples, a rule rooted in issues from other colonies, which Mickey explains in a especially helpful manner.

Both Mickey7 or Mickey8 can volunteer themselves to climb into the ship’s recycler, also known as the corpse hole. It is the latest version of disposal of human garbage. Rather then, they agree to keep secret of dual existences from everyone on board, including Berto and even Mickey’s girlfriend the combat pilot Nasha. Nasha absolutely rules, and let’s be honest, we all love her.
Niflheim Life Not Easy
Life is not so easy in Niflheim. It is like a nightmare. The atmosphere of Niflheim is insecure and critically enemy to humans, making even breathing a challenge. A destructive famine is coming because supplies are running out, threatening the colony’s existence. The crew of the spaceship is getting disheartened because the shortage of food is increasing. Stop it i not only one problem, Creepers that are deadly carnivorous creatures with their caterpillar-like bodies, show an increased curiosity toward their new neighbors. Day by day, the condition is more tense, and Commander Marshall, the leader, is completely freaked out.
The luck of both the planet and the colony seems to come down to Mickey 7-and, OK, Mickey 8 too, but it’s against all odds. He must navigate through a web of lies and make strategic choices, manage calorie consumption carefully and avoid getting killed. Few coming weeks will take test his survival skills like never before. To be honest, knows that failure is not an option.
How will ‘Mickey 17’ differ from the ‘Mickey7’ Novel?
When i write this, I don’t have much info but the trailer and a few other small details that were revealed, but its ok enough to explain. The first fact that we know from the title of the movie is that our hero’s name is “Mickey17” instead of “Mickey7”. Director Bong Joon-Ho appeared at CinemaCon: where he explain explained shortly, Where he said i killed him 10 more times that’s the reason the name is changed to “Hope It’s enough”.
It’s hard not to laugh at Pattinson’s antics as he gets chewed up and spit out in all kinds of hilarious or disgusting ways. It would be great to see a montage. It would be great if there could be a montage.
Key Character Differences in Mickey17 vs. Mickey7
On the other hand, you will see the difference between the character Mickey17 vs Mickey7. In this movie, you can watch 3 lead roles which are the same: Naomi Ackie plays Nasha, Mickey’s loyal, badass girlfriend; Mark Ruffalo plays Commander Marshall, a crazy, incompetent, and obsessive figure; and Robert Pattinson portrays Mickey in many voices. The film does not mention Mickey’s BFF Berto, but we can likely assume actor Steven Yeun’s character, Timo, is his replacement.
Security guard named Cat Chen, who makes an enduring friendship with Mickey (and maybe something more) that will have a major impact on how things turn out for him at the end, is also absent from the cast list — is Dorothy, the character played by actress Patsy Ferran, Cat?
The character Ylfa, played by Toni Collette, isn’t in Ashton’s novel. From the company’s official stills, the trailer, and Collette’s interview, we know that Ylfa is married to Ruffalo’s Commander Kenneth Marshall.According to Collette, Ylfa is “a nightmare” and “a smiling assassin,” which, I hope, means a classic performance is in the making.
What Is The Ending of ‘Mickey7’?
Ok, are you actually interested to know? Let’s jump In: Nash, Mickey7, Mickey8 are spotted together in bed (so you knew it was coming), and security reports it to Command. The Marshall Commander is very angry and takes the three of them to the recycler and threatens to blow them up.: Before the deal: After blowing up Mickey7’s Creeper tunnels, he will print Mickey9, and Mickey’s consciousness will live on after the book. Both Mickeys are in agreement, however Mickey7 has reservations that Mickey8 does not have, since Mickey8 was not born with Mickey7’s memories.

In the first mission when Mickey7 falls into the ice cave, he finds a huge spreading network in the tunnels. Creepers create this network. After thinking Berto won’t save him, Mickey7 wanders the tunnels for a while until he encounters a huge Creeper, 10 percent larger than any of the creatures he has encountered thus far. He isn’t killed by the Giant Creeper, though.
In fact, it transports Mickey by tunneling miles and miles until he reaches an exit point near the colony’s headquarters. When Mickey knows about the creatures and feels that creatures have sentiment, he realizes it’s genocide to destroy them like he wants. Obviously, he’s against that plan, but he doesn’t say anything.
Terrifying Discovery in the Tunnels
Mickey8 stumbles upon a giant nest while wandering through the tunnels and sees a sight that makes him sick with stress. Creatures are preparing for something big because of the creeper-like structures wrapping around the walls which indicates that. Suddenly, an ocular device in his suit cuts off, severing communication with his team. He instantly deduces that this isn’t just any area—it’s deep within their territory, and a single wrong move could trigger a fight. He sends a message, but before he can pull himself back, he meets one of the giants. Even though he has incarnated before, he has learned that handling these creatures correctly is the key.
Rather than running, he engages in a careful conversation, hoping to reach an agreement, a rare opportunity to live peacefully together for humans and aliens. It concerns him, however, that the bomb radius his team carries will cause them to waste all their effort if they decide to blow everything up. Time is short and running fast, and with every bit of knowledge he collects, it seems like every encounter will become more deadly than the last.
Is There A Sequel To The ‘Mickey7’ Novel?
Yes, of course! There’s good news if you’re not satisfied with Mickey: Ashton has written a sequel, Antimatter Blues, a gripping follow-up to the first book. Having become expendable, he is settling into the colony on Niflheim, where lichens are growing, and bats are chirping.
But trouble isn’t far-the antimatter that fuels the settlement is running low, and Commander Marshall orders Mickey to retrieve a bomb to harvest what’s left. It’s a lose-lose situation for Mickey; if he agrees, he risks killing himself, and if he refuses, the entire colony faces doom. Providing a thrilling and action-packed story, it is a tough pickle he has to handle-one you will want to read for yourself.
